The picture below shows some of the alcohol seized from youngsters by the Community Action Team and the council Wardens since last June.
This is a great example of partnership working and has helped to reduce the amount of alcohol in the hands of youngsters in our Borough. Congleton Borough Council, Congleton Community Safety Partnership, Cheshire County Council Trading Standards and Cheshire Police have worked really hard to ensure that youngsters cannot get alcohol from our pubs, off licences and supermarkets. Sadly much of it comes from the homes of some of the youngsters and is then sold on or shared. There is also some evidence that it is purchased outside of our area and then brought in by car.
